Privacy Policy

Overview

LaunchReady stores your boat profile, outing plans, checklists, maintenance records, logbook, and cached forecasts on your device. There is no personal account or cloud sync for these records. The app uses the external services described below for maps, forecasts, subscriptions, usage analytics, and crash reporting.

This policy applies to the LaunchReady mobile application and its related support services.

Sources and permissions

Most information is provided directly by you or created as you use the app. Device, diagnostic, and transaction information may come from your device, Apple, Google, or the service providers used to operate the app.

Permission-controlled information is accessed only after you grant the relevant device permission. You can revoke a permission in system settings, although the related feature may stop working.

Information we process

• Local records: vessel and crew details, entered conditions, readiness results, outings, maintenance, checklists, notes, and cached forecasts stay on your device. Device backups may include this data according to your Apple settings. The app keeps up to 500 recent feature and purchase-flow events locally; you can choose to export this journal from Settings.
• Maps and forecasts: Apple Maps processes place searches and lookups. MET Norway or the US National Weather Service receives the coordinates you select for forecast requests and your IP address. MET Norway keeps request URLs, including coordinates, IP addresses, and technical request details in its service logs. LaunchReady does not request GPS access or send your boat profile, notes, or logbook in forecast requests.
• Subscriptions: Apple handles billing. RevenueCat receives purchase history, receipt and transaction information, an anonymous app user identifier, and technical details to verify Pro access and restore purchases. LaunchReady does not provide personal account or contact information to RevenueCat.
• Usage analytics: Google Analytics for Firebase receives basic feature and purchase-flow events, app and device details, an anonymous installation identifier, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. RevenueCat uses the installation identifier to send subscription lifecycle and revenue events to the same Analytics property. Boat names, selected forecast locations, crew details, notes, and logbook content are excluded from Analytics events.
• Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports, installation identifiers, technical app and device details, and basic activity events to diagnose problems. We do not attach boat records, selected locations, notes, or personal account identities.
• Support and sharing: if you choose to contact support or export information, the recipient receives the information you choose to send. System sharing opens a destination you select; the app does not automatically send your journal or records to support.

How we use information

• Store and display the readiness, checklist, maintenance, outing, and logbook information you request.
• Find selected boating areas and retrieve forecasts from external providers.
• Provide Pro access, restore subscriptions, and analyze subscription lifecycle and revenue.
• Understand feature usage and diagnose crashes and technical problems. Advertising identifiers, personalized ads, and advertising conversion matching are disabled. We do not use these integrations for cross-app advertising tracking.
• Respond to support and privacy requests you choose to submit.

Sharing and service providers

• Apple provides App Store payments and MapKit services under its own privacy notices.
• RevenueCat verifies subscriptions and forwards subscription events to our Google Analytics property using an anonymous installation identifier.
• Google Firebase provides Analytics and Crashlytics for the limited measurement and diagnostic purposes described above. We do not supply boat records, selected locations, notes, or personal account identities to these services.
• MET Norway and the National Weather Service provide forecasts and process request data under their published terms and privacy notices.
• Your chosen recipient receives any records or journal you explicitly share. Information is not sold or supplied to advertisers by LaunchReady.

We do not sell personal information. We do not permit service providers to use information for their own unrelated purposes.

International processing

Gamina and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable law requires it, we use contractual and organizational safeguards intended to protect information during those transfers.

Storage and retention

Local records and the capped local event journal remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app and its data. Apple backups are managed through your device and iCloud settings. Analytics, crash reports, purchase records, forecast-provider logs, and support messages follow the retention settings and operational or legal requirements of the respective service. Removing the app does not automatically delete provider-side records or cancel an App Store subscription.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

• Choose which boat, crew, location, and outing information to enter. Edit or delete local records through the available app controls, or remove the app and its data. Export records you want to keep first.
• Choose whether to request an online forecast, search a place, contact support, or share records. The app does not request GPS permission.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings; deleting the app does not cancel billing.
• Contact support for access, correction, or deletion requests relating to information held by us or our providers. We may need enough information to locate an anonymous installation or transaction.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may also give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.

Children

LaunchReady is intended for adult boat owners and operators and is not directed to children under 13.

Third-party services and links

The app may link to or interoperate with services controlled by other companies. Their privacy practices apply to information they collect independently, so review their notices and controls before using those services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required.
